Hi there,
I'm very glad you're interested in joining this forum and welcome! When you read and post on here, please be mindful of these rules:
1. You must be 13 years or older to join.
2. Vulgar language and name calling will not be tolerated.
3. Give credit to the photographers who have captured the images you post. Please at least try to provide the name of the photographer or artist and a link to their website if possible. If you don't know either of those provide a link to where you found it.
4. Do not create multiple accounts on this forum.
5. Do not spam. Make sure that a comment contributes to the conversation and furthers it along. Do not simply comment "I love him!" or "He is so cute!" on threads unless they are the appropriate ones (see number 7).
6. Refrain from using anthropomorphic terms in the main boards. These terms include but are not limited to "ham", "jokester", "silly" etc. There is a place where this is acceptable (see number 7).
7. You may speak freely about your feelings in the boards appointed to your stance on captivity. If you are a SeaWorld supporter and wish to gush over Makani you can - in that board. My hope as the admin is to have a forum that is educational and factually correct first and foremost. The "Introduce Yourself!" board is a place where you can speak to one another on matters not related to orcas. This being said - please do not be afraid to contribute to the orcas' main threads! Share what you see at SeaWorld! Who is playing with who? What training sessions have you seen? Don't be afraid to share outside of the pro-captivity board!
8. Although it may seem trivial, please try your best to use complete sentences and use proper spelling and punctuation in your posts. It helps others understand you better and prevents misunderstandings.
9. Before you make a new thread to post in, check around the forum. There's a chance that it might have already been created!
If any of these rules are broken, you will be issued a warning percentage according to the offense. I will message you privately telling you why you are being warned. The warning will go down 10% every month. If someone acquires a 100% warning they will be banned temporarily for a month. If they again reach a 100% warning, they will be banned permanently. If you feel as though the warning is unfair, you can private message me at any time and we can discuss it.
I reserve the right to change, remove or add to these rules at any time. You will be notified if and when such changes occur.
I hope we can all get along well here and celebrate the wonders of the killer whale together!
